Teranet provides online payment service for hospitals
Queensway Carleton patients can take care of bills from their home
Teranet is pleased to announce that Queensway Carleton Hospital is the first health care facility to take advantage of Teranet's online payment services.
This new service allows patients to pay for hospital products and services such as casts, crutches, and ambulance charges quickly and easily using the Internet. By eliminating the need to stand in line, pay for parking, or deal with the mail, online payment services offer a simple and easy way to pay hospital bills - 24 hours a day.
"The system was easy to implement and will make a real difference to patients," said Patricia Renaud, Manager, Financial Services at Queensway Carlton Hospital. "It's an excellent way of getting your accounts receivable cleared up faster."
Online payment services from Teranet benefit hospitals by reducing administrative costs, simplifying payment reconciliation and data management and lowering ongoing operating costs, in addition to offering patients improved service.
There are no capital costs and the service can be up and running within 30 days. The credit card payment service is safeguarded by strict security measures to ensure that user information remains private and funds are deposited directly into the hospital's account.
Patients simply access the bill payment service directly through the hospital website at www.qch.on.ca. After entering their account number and credit card information they can complete their payment and print out a receipt.
Teranet's service has full flexibility to allow hospitals to tailor it to suit the look of their own web site. Teranet has already established successful online payment services for parking tickets and Provincial Offences Act fees throughout Ontario.
"Finding ways to implement innovative technology to help organizations better serve their customers is our strength," said Donald Stokes, Health Care Practice Lead at Teranet. "We are currently talking with other hospitals to help improve patient services and streamline administration."
