Julia Reed serves as Chief Human Resources Officer of Teranet Inc.

As CHRO, Reed leads the Human Resources function and is responsible for the development and execution of the company's Human Capital strategy.

Prior to joining Teranet in October 2010, Reed spent nine years with the world leading global pharmaceutical and consumer healthcare company, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Inc. She held a variety of progressively more senior HR roles within GSK, including her most recent role as head of Human Resources for GSK Consumer Healthcare Canada. In this role, she successfully led an organization restructuring, transforming the company into a more competitive and strategically focused business unit. During her tenure with GSK, she also developed programs and initiatives that attracted, developed and retained world-class talent.

Reed has also held positions within technology, publishing and retail organizations. She directed the Human Resources function for Blue Zone Entertainment, a Vancouver-based new media company. She also worked in Human Resources for Harlequin Enterprises Ltd., the world leader in publishing and distribution of romance novels, and IKEA Canada where she started her career and held several progressive roles, including Business Development Leader for their Internet Business.

A graduate of the University of Toronto, Reed has an Honors Bachelor of Arts, with Majors in Commerce and Industrial Relations. She has completed a number of executive development programs, including the University of Toronto's Strategic Leadership Program and the Banff Centre for Management's course in Performance Management Excellence. She is currently working on a Master of Arts in Leadership at Royal Roads University.
