At the October 2019 Teranet Market Insight Forum<\/a>, data usage was front of mind.<\/p>\n

Mortgage Professionals Canada CEO Paul Taylor memorably said, \u201cData is the new bacon.\u201d<\/p>\n

One audience member questioned that statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou talked about data being the new bacon,\u201d said the audience member.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I think that we would all agree that bacon is sufficiently anonymized. You don\u2019t have to sign the Protein Usage Agreement to eat it. But that\u2019s not true for real data. And that\u2019s certainly not true for our situation where we\u2019re dealing with data usage agreements and we have to pass those all through.\u201d<\/p>\n

The questioner asked the panel what they would advocate for in terms of providing access to data to drive automation and make processes easier for the customer.<\/p>\n
