Teranet Remains Committed to Focusing on Accessibility in 2021
Our priority, at Teranet, is to provide our customers with the best experience and ensure that we meet (and exceed) their expectations.
One core component of providing unparalleled service is catering to special requirements our customers may have.
We strive to provide our services in ways that respect the dignity and independence of people with disabilities. Our team has made a conscious effort to review our processes and platforms in order to identify, remove, and prevent barriers that may be affecting our customers.
Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act
The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), which became a law on June 13, 2005, is designed to effectively identify and remove barriers that impact individuals with disabilities.
It applies to all levels of government, non-profits, and private sector businesses in Ontario that have one or more employees.
Making Websites Compliant
Web accessibility is extremely important today.
This is why the Government of Ontario requires company websites to meet the requirements laid out in WCAG 2.0; an internationally accepted standard for web accessibility developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
These guidelines make it easier for people with disabilities to access websites and online content.
By January 1, 2021, all large organizations are expected to adhere to the WCAG 2.0 Level AA guidelines with respect to their websites and web content.
Teranet’s Commitment to Accessibility
At Teranet, we have ensured that all our websites are AODA compliant and designed in a way that helps all our users access the information they want quickly, easily, and efficiently.
In addition to focusing on compliance, we have also made changes to some aspects of our website to make it easier to access information about our solutions. Recently, we have added a new registry solutions section to provide more specific information.
This section provides more information about our diverse registry solutions including new offerings we have added, as a result of the acquisition of Foster Moore, to provide operational cost reductions, enhanced security, and process improvements.
