Ontario’s COVID-19 Response Framework and Teranet’s Safety Initiatives

December 2, 2020 • COVID-19

As COVID-19 cases continue to rise, the Government of Ontario has put additional preventative measures in place to curb the community transmission of COVID-19.

Toronto and Peel regions have recently been moved to the grey (lockdown) level to support the health and wellbeing of the people of Ontario while enabling businesses to continue to operate.

With these new restrictions in place, we at Teranet, are committed to continue supporting our customers while focusing on workplace safety.

COVID-19 Response Framework – A Quick Look

In an effort to keep Ontario safe and open, the authorities have created five levels of public health measures for different regions based on the public health indicators pertaining to these regions. These levels include:

I.   Green – Prevent (standard measures).

II.  Yellow – Protect (strengthened measures).

III. Orange – Restrict (intermediate measures).

IV.  Red – Control (stringent measures).

V.   Grey – Lockdown (maximum measures).

Currently, in Toronto and Peel regions, maximum measures are in place. This means:

  • Trips outside of the home should only be for essential reasons.
  • No indoor organized public events and social gatherings are permitted (except with members of the same household).
  • Work to be done remotely, where possible.

Guidance For The Holiday Season

Based on the advice of the Chief Medical Officer of Health and inputs from the Public Health Measures Table, the Ontario government has provided preliminary guidance for celebrating the holiday season safely.

The government has advised Ontarians to only celebrate in person with the people they live with and celebrate virtually with everyone else. Though, if you’re living alone, you can celebrate the season with just one other household.
