Mel Hogg
Chief Human Resources Officer
Mel Hogg is the Chief Human Resources Officer at Teranet Inc., recognized as a transformative leader with deep experience spanning both legal practice and senior executive roles. She spent the first decade of her career as a commercial litigator in New York City and Toronto before moving into human resources and corporate services, where she has held a number of senior leadership positions.
In her role as CHRO, Mel leads Teranet’s people strategy, champions an inclusive and high‑performance culture, and ensures HR programs and practices are aligned with the company’s strategic objectives.
Mel’s legal background informs her business‑focused approach to complex human resources and labour relations matters. Before joining Teranet, she served as Chief Administrative Officer at Ontario Power Generation, leading multi‑disciplinary corporate services functions, and driving organizational transformation in a highly regulated environment.
Mel holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the University of Toronto.
In her personal time, Mel is an active social justice advocate serving on the Board of organizations committed to advancing equality and ending gender-based violence. Mel currently serves as Vice‑Chair of the Board of the Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund (LEAF) and previously served as Chair of the Board of the Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic.
Mel enjoys spending time with her two sons whom she credits for her new ability to throw a football and her growing understanding of reptile care.
