What to expect

A key pillar of our overarching campus recruitment strategy is all about engagement. How do we engage our students, provide a best-in-class co-op experience and have a significant impact on their early career? We not only strive to engage our students from the moment we’ve been matched until their work term ends, but we make it a point to keep in touch with our previous students, too.

Beyond the technical day-to-day work, we host a variety of co-op exclusive events throughout each term to keep things exciting. These events are aimed to help our students build relationships with their peers, provide networking opportunities and equip them with a variety of tips and tricks to help them stand out in the job market.

Pre-Orientation Sessions

A 30-minute session with upcoming co-op students to provide an overview of the onboarding process and expectations of the work term.

Welcome Ceremony

An occasion to celebrate our departing co-op students for their contributions and achievements.

Success stories

Considering a co-op experience with us? Hear directly from our incredible students.

Teranet’s co-op program has inspired me to understand the importance of learning and then practicing. Without real-world practices, all theories we learnt from schools are worthless. Moreover, by taking the co-op program at Teranet, I have realized how easily a network could be built between peers and those professional full-time workers. As long as they feel that you are treating them as friends, then trust and friendship start there immediately.

Co-op Software Developer

Teranet was my second experience as a web developer and it has solidified my belief that this is the path that I want to go down in the future. This experience at Teranet had some unexpected opportunities to develop not only my web development skills but also skills like batch and python scripting. If I had to choose one word which is most representative of the overall work experience at Teranet I would say “opportunities.” The reason I say this is because the mentors try to push you to learn new skills and have you apply them immediately, providing more opportunities to develop.

Co-op Application Development Student

Being my first co-op opportunity, Teranet has really inspired me to further my work experience in the field. The feeling of collaborating to output a product that impacts the real world has been very rewarding.

Co-op ETL Quality Assurance Analyst

Teranet’s co-op program has been incredible, and the most inspiring part has been the inclusion and diversity that the company models throughout all its practices. It is important for workplaces to be safe spaces where people can share their ideas comfortably and express themselves authentically, and I can proudly say that Teranet has made me feel included, and treated me as an important and valued member of the team. This co-op program has been wonderful and I am grateful to have been able to start my co-op journey here.

Co-op Project Coordinator

Teranet’s co-op program has inspired me to be the best programmer I can be and reaffirmed my choice to go into computer science was the correct one. The exposure to what full-time software developers do each day has inspired me to one day be in that position. With the massive amount of data I am dealing with on my co-op term I have realized the importance of data science and I will likely try to expand my knowledge in this area even after my co-op is over. All in all, Teranet has certainly grown my passion for computer science.
