Leadership Connect with Jessie Vaid, Founder and CEO, at GoVeyance

By July 14, 2025July 16th, 2025GoVeyance, Leadership Connect

In our latest edition of our Leadership Connect blog series, we have an insightful conversation with Jessie Vaid, CEO and Founder of GoVeyance. Learning about his role, AI, insights on building a conveyancing platform for Ontarians, and where he sees the biggest opportunity within the next 3-5 years.

1. Tell us more about your role at GoVeyance. What does your day-to-day look like and how it feels to be a part of a technology solution supporting Canadians?

As CEO of GoVeyance, my role is focused on ensuring that we’re consistently firing on all cylinders – from product development to sales, customer success, marketing, and finance. This makes for a fast-paced, hands-on role that’s incredibly fulfilling.

To drive practical innovation, every part of the business must move in sync to support our clients. This requires both short-term and long-term strategic thinking, more importantly, having the right team in place. We have assembled a team of subject matter experts, many of whom you may know, to help expedite the change and growth needed to scale.

Powered by Canadians, we are proudly building a solution to help legal professionals assist their clients with one of life’s most significant moments: home ownership.

2. What are the biggest challenges you’ve seen in the conveyancing space in British Columbia that we can work through in Ontario?

In British Columbia, one of the biggest challenges was overcoming the hesitancy to switch to a new conveyancing platform. This is a niche and tightly knit industry, and a trust gap exists. Firms wanted to know: Who is GoVeyance? Who are the founders? Why should we switch from what we know? How long will we be around?

We had to build brand awareness and prove that our product wasn’t just different, it was superior in every respect. That’s why we say, “Built for the community, by the community.” We listened, we acted, and we executed.

The good news is, we’ve done the hard work. And now that we are powered by Teranet, that trust gap will be easier to close in Ontario. We’re coming in with credibility, experience, and a platform that’s been tested and trusted by over 200 active monthly users in British Columbia. With all these learnings, we’re ready to take Ontario head-on. Let’s go!

3. As technology evolves rapidly how do you foresee A.I helping to future-proof the tooling that GoVeyance provides for notaries and all legal professionals?

AI can be a powerful enabler when used to build “practical innovation,” which essentially means that any innovation we launch will be utilized by our clients. Especially in a space like conveyancing, where accuracy, speed, and efficiency are crucial, it’s essential to build features that enable them to complete the job effectively. Whether it’s automating document intake, validating data, or syncing with lenders in real time, AI will help us future-proof the experience.

It’s time for change in this industry, and we’re proud to say we’re building GoVeyance as an AI-first company.

4. What is your leadership philosophy, and how do you inspire and guide your team at GoVeyance?

My leadership philosophy is simple: lead with clarity, empathy, and conviction. At GoVeyance, I focus on making sure every team member understands the “why” behind what we’re building and feels empowered to own their part in it. I believe in hiring great people, giving them the tools and trust to succeed, and removing roadblocks so they can move quickly. We have come a long way in two years, which doesn’t just happen without the right people and leadership. We’re building something meaningful, and when the team believes in and rallies around that purpose, the energy is unstoppable.

5. What excites you the most about the partnership between GoVeyance and Teranet and the future for legal professionals across Canada?

What excites me most about the GoVeyance and Teranet partnership is the opportunity to pair innovation with decades of industry trust and experience.

We’ve built a modern, innovative platform, and now, with Teranet’s credibility, infrastructure, and national reach, we’re well-positioned to grow across Canada. Together, we can provide legal professionals with the tools they deserve: smarter workflows, enhanced integrations, and a truly seamless experience from start to finish. It’s time to raise the bar for the industry.
