Employee Community Involvement Spotlight: Laura Kemp, Sr. Manager of Sales Operations and Effectiveness

At Teranet, we believe in the power of community and the profound impact that each individual can have when they give back. Our Employee Community Spotlight series celebrates the dedicated efforts of our team members who go above and beyond to make a difference. This month, we are excited to feature Laura Kemp, our Sr. Manager of Sales Operations and Effectiveness who exemplifies what it means to be a compassionate and engaged community member.

What do you do at Teranet?

I am Laura Kemp, Senior Manager of Sales Operations and Effectiveness. My role moved to the marketing team last year, and we have inherited the Sales and Marketing tech stack. Most notably, my team manages the Salesforce platform, where the sales pipeline, lead funnel, and many other customer insights are contained. This year, we’ve added the Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Data Cloud to our tech stack, so my team has been heavily focused on these implementations. Our goal, is to build a  360 view of a Teranet customer to enable advanced insights and analytics on our customers and automate intelligent and informed interactions.

Canada Cycles for Kids (CCFK) & Why they matter

CCFK is a volunteer-run charity that raises funds for children’s hospitals and pediatric programs across Canada and internationally. What makes this organization truly special is that 100% of donations go directly to the charities we support. There are no admin fees and no overhead. In 2001, CCFK was founded by a close family friend, and my dad has been involved since day 1. On the inaugural trip, the cyclists rode from Vancouver to Montreal over 6 weeks to raise money for the Children’s Wish Foundation (now Make a Wish Canada). In the early years, I rode along in the camper van with the other kids, just goofing around and watching the cyclists. In 2017 I joined my first ride and have participated every summer since. As of 2025, CCFK has cycled through every province in Canada (and the Yukon) and has raised over 4.5 million dollars for Make a Wish Canada and other local charities. This summer we had an incredible ride and cycled from Canmore to Saskatoon. We are all very excited for the 25th anniversary ride next year!

Over the years, Canada Cycles for Kids has raised over $3,400,000 and this year alone they’ve been able to donate to these foundations:

Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba, Manitoba
  • Malis Bipolar Generator and Pump
Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation, Alberta
  • KidSim Van
Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
  • Sonosite PX Ultrasound Machine
Territorial Hospital Foundation, Yellowknife, Northwest Territories
  • Kangaroo feeders
  • Halo Swivel Sleeper
Montreal Children’s Hospital, Quebec
  • Ultrasound probes
  • Cardiac Rhythm Simulator

What drove your passion to get involved?

Supporting children’s health is so incredibly important. Being able to make a difference in a child’s life during the most difficult time for their families is incredibly rewarding. We have the honour of being joined by Wish families along our cycling journey for meals and fundraisers and hearing some of the stories of wishes that have been granted. The strength that these kids display at such a young age makes our 10% grade hill on the bike look like a piece of cake. When we support local hospitals, we often purchase a very specific piece of equipment the hospital needs. The hospital foundation will keep in touch will CCFK and share some of the life-saving care stories that we have supported. All of this combined with my passion for cycling and spending time with my family and close friends, is truly the best week of my year every year.

How can others get involved with Canada Cycles for Kids

CCFK is my favourite thing to talk about and is always looking to grow and spread our impact. Thank you to Teranet and those that have contributed to our cause along the way!
You can donate at any time at here. If you have any stories to share, or any causes that align with CCFK’s mission, you can reach out directly to me.
