Teranet is honoured to be the recipient of the 2018 Esri Special Achievement in GIS (SAG) Award.
On July 12, 2018 Esri, one of the world’s top geographic information system (GIS) solutions providers, honoured Teranet for its effective enterprise implementation of GIS technology to deliver better services.
Teranet has migrated all of their core spatial data into Esri’s ArcGIS platform. It now forms part of one of the most advanced land registration systems in the world.
Thousands of organizations worldwide were considered for the award, but Teranet came out on top. The City of Brampton also received the 2018 Esri SAG award for its Brampton GeoHub.
“Both Brampton and Teranet, each with very different requirements, have seen an almost immediate return on their investment,” said Alex Miller, president, Esri Canada.
“Teranet has a massive amount of data to store and manipulate, and they require very high security on that data. Brampton is using their GeoHub to better serve their residents while saving a huge amount of staff time.”
Teranet manages one of the largest land registration systems in the world, POLARIS, the Province of Ontario Land Registration Information System.
The data from Teranet provides property information to real estate, financial services, government, utilities, and legal markets.
When Teranet had to replace their legacy mapping platform, Al Buckle, Director of Operations at Teranet, said, “We were looking for a secure, and stable GIS platform that could scale with Teranet’s growth. We chose Esri Canada’s solution because of their market leadership, advanced parcel data model and extensive technology stack.”
